An exhibition in Shrewsbury revealing plans for a pilot resident parking scheme which could set the blueprint for the county opened today.
Residents in Mountfields, where the scheme will be implemented if council bosses receive enough support, were today expected to flock to see the plans at the Guildhall.
The proposed scheme has been amended as a result of the original consultation carried out in April and the new plans will be on display until 5pm today and tomorrow between 10am and 5pm.
Shropshire County Council is considering the implementation of a residents’ parking scheme for the Mountfields area.
The result of the first consultation indicated that 70 per cent of those who responded and live within the proposed zone were in favour of the scheme.
A public meeting to discuss the issue will be held at the Guildhall tonight at 7pm.
The consultation will finish with a county council scrutiny panel meeting on October 21 at the Guildhall.
