Fifty years of Welsh ploughing will be celebrated in Powys this weekend - with the organisers pledging the show will go on even despite the weather.
More than 200 ploughmen, including seven teams of horse ploughs, will be taking part in the All Wales and European Vintage Ploughing Championships in Presteigne on Friday and Saturday.
John Nixon, chairman of Radnor Valley Vintage Club which is hosting the match at Hindwell and Walton Court Farms, Walton, Presteigne, said: “To have to cancel the match and disappoint so many competitors, exhibitors and members of the public is just not an option.”
The European ploughing classes will take place on Friday, but the majority of the ploughing classes, including the Welsh Championships, will be taking place on Saturday.
Throughout the event fencing and hedging classes will take place. For details, see the website www.radorvalleyvintage.co.uk
