Villagers living near Market Drayton are to appear on TV in a documentary about the NHS.
Audlem will feature in Dom’s on the Case of the Drugs Lottery, on BBC1 next Tuesday as part of a week-long investigation into the state of the NHS.
The show, presented by Dom Littlewood, is expected to include shots of the village centre, Audlem Wharf and the Shroppie Fly pub. It will be aired from 9.15 to 10am.
The programme investigates issues around why the Welsh have free prescriptions, while in Audlem, 10 miles from the Welsh border, they cost £7.10.
It features Andy Crabbe, of Cheshire, who has to stump up thousands of pounds for the drug Sutent, which slows down the growth of his kidney tumours, because his local authority will not pay for it, and Keith Wood, who moved from Wales to Cheshire, to get better health treatment.
In May, almost 700 people in Audlem said they would rather live in Wales.
