Harlescott

Above: Drivers struggle through the flooded roads at Harlescott.

A family-of-three had their vehicle winched out of the water close to the Mid Wales Airport, Welshpool at 1.37am today.

Meanwhile, hundreds of motorists were today being diverted because the main A483 road through Powys has been closed between Arddleen and Welshpool and Abermule and Newtown, due to the River Severn bursting its banks.

My commiserations to all people affected by these floods, after only just being able to move back to their homes and businesses, following the floods of last year. And well done to all the services, including district council and local authority workers, during this time.
