Bridgnorth boss has full strength side

Boss Andy Marlowe believes the time for him to be judged at Bridgnorth has arrived.

The Crown Meadow men have chalked up two wins in the first five games, but Marlowe hasn’t yet picked from a fully available squad.

He does, however, have that luxury for tonight’s trip to Biddulph Victoria.

“For the first five or six games we have had quite a few people away or unavailable,” said Marlowe.

“But everyone’s available now so I have no excuses - it’s time to judge me.”Marlowe welcomes back Ashley Burd tonight, while on-loan Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Jasbir Singh is available with his suspension for a sending off against Shifnal not yet due to kick in.

Striker Gareth Horler is also back to full fitness after suffering a serious facial injury against Barwell.

Marlowe has confirmed former assistant manager Bob Jones has now left the club, with Bridgnorth stalwart Steve Broome coming in as No 2 and Andy Reece taking over as coach.

Market Drayton look to establish themselves at the top of the table at home to Cradley Town.

Simon Line’s team have got off to a flying start in the league with four wins and a draw from their opening five, though they did finally taste defeat in their FA Cup preliminary round match against Glapwell.

“We are glad to be playing tonight rather than training,” said Line. “Good sides bounce back.

“We played well enough to win on the weekend but we just couldn’t convert our chances.

“I’m not too worried about our league position at this stage of the season, we’ve just got to keep winning.”

Versatile midfielder Nicky Porter is doubtful after picking up a knock to his ankle.

Shifnal Town return from their FA Cup antics with a trip to Coalville Town.

A gritty 3-2 victory at Coleshill Town at the weekend earned Shifnal a smooth £1,500 and a place in the first round of qualifying.

There is a sense that this Shifnal side might be embarking on a memorable season, but the big tests are around the corner.

“Coalville are one of the best teams in the league in my eyes,” said manager Darran Goodall.

“But if we’ve got anything about us we’ll go there and get something from the game.

“The least I would expect would be a point. We’ll always go for the win, but I do rate them very highly.”

Goodall has a full squad as his disposal. Matthew Johnson’s suspension for his weekend red card starts at a later date.
