Supercars to get the midas touch
London-based firm, Alchemist, will be showcasing its luxury car customisation service at this year’s MPH show featuring Top Gear Live.
The artisan company specialises in applying a lustrous coat of 24-carat gold to the roof of any car, using an innovative new patented process to cover a car’s roof with the purest gold leaf. Prices start at £12,500.
Alchemist director Jacques Blanc commented: “Gold-leafing vehicles isn’t a new luxury. The Egyptians mastered the technique more than 3000 years ago and Tutankhamun’s chariot was decorated with gold leaves. We are simply continuing this ancient and opulent tradition.”

Car parking is not “undercharged” nor is it “subsidised”. Town centre businesses are overtaxed by local authorities rates and would close or move out of town if their customers were driven away by parking charges. This would dramatically reduce the local authorities income from these lost businesses.
This government is totally out of it’s mind - car parks are expensive to park in especially town centre ones. If you use your car for business purposes you have to be near to your work place, because time means money. We all haven’t the luxury of walking / cycling.
I like that Peugeot plenty!
They need a new design direction, as the current “wide mouth frog” look is about as appealing dining on nasal excavations. I also hope that they get their ride/handling mojo back, as the 207GTi I test drove late last year had it’s steering anaesthatised and it’s shocks filled with custard. Nasty thing it was, which is why I went for an Alfa 147 Sport Q2.
