£7,000 Rolex is stolen in raid

Police are hunting intruders who stole a £7,000 Rolex watch belonging to a woman’s late husband in a raid on a Telford home.

The burglars struck at the home in the Woodside area sometime over the weekend.

The break-in at Park Court was reported to police at 2pm on Sunday.

Burglars are believed to have targeted the home between 10am on Saturday and 8.20am on Sunday after forcing their way into the property.

The watch is described as a silver gentleman’s watch and is engraved with the owner’s name.

The intruders also fled with a black wooden jewellery box and a set of golf clubs from the shed.

Denise Wakefield, Telford police spokeswoman, said today: “The owner is extremely upset because the watch belonged to her deceased husband so it is clearly of great sentimental value to her.”
