Castlefields close in on league title

Champions-elect Castlefields tightened their grip on the Furrows Shropshire Premier Bowls League with a 11-3 home win over Newport.

Fields are now 12 points clear at the top with a huge aggregate advantage of 152.

It was a bad night for defending champions St Georges, who lost 8-6 at Meole Brace and drop down a place to third.

Wem move into second spot, above the Dragons, after their 13-1 thrashing of Childs Ercall.

Chester Road stay in fourth following a comfortable win at home over Bylet
