Road opens after repair

A Shropshire road damaged by last summer’s floods is due to reopen today after being closed for almost a year.

Workmen were expected to complete temporary repairs to the Oldfield to Wrickton road at Winterburn Bridge near Bridgnorth by 6pm.

The road has been closed to traffic since last autumn when part of the bridge was found to have collapsed as a result of the floods.

Traffic has since been diverted along the B4364 via Cleobury North.

Shropshire County Council is due to start building a new bridge next March.
