Delays as M54 closed

Motorists faced delays and a diversion when a carriageway of the M54 was shut after a car overturned.

Both lanes of the westbound carriageway were closed between Junction 7, with the A5 at Cluddeley, and Junction 6, by Wrekin Retail Park, for about 30 minutes following the crash at about 7.50pm yesterday.

Sub-officer Tony Druce, of Telford Central fire station, said: “The Peugeot had flipped over and ended up on its roof, but the driver managed to get himself out of the car before we arrived.”
