Brisbourne’s Chester double

Shropshire trainer Mark Brisbourne enjoyed another trip to Chester races, picking up two victories at the evening meeting.

His first win of the evening came in the Astbury Wren Nursery Handicap when Transcentral defied the odds to edge home at 6-1.

Nesscliffe-based Brisbourne’s tactic of flooding the final race of the evening, the Lambert Smith Yeomanry Handicap, with six runners then paid dividends when he saddled a one-two.

Prelude repeated his victory in the same race last year for owner Paul Burgoyne at 7-2 beating Sir Sandicliffe (12-1) into second place.
