Nominate YOUR Telford Champion

We’ve chronicled the development of Telford for 40 years. In that time we’ve reported on just some of the people who have helped mould the character of the town.

But there are many more people from all walks of life who have played their part in making Telford what it is today. People who have contributed in a host of ways for the betterment of the community at large.
It’s those very special people that we want to celebrate as we set out on our search to find our Telford Champions.

We want you to tell us about those who have left their own indelible mark on the Borough of Telford & Wrekin.

It might be an unsung hero or heroine who has founded a local charity or one who has made thousands for a cash strapped charity in the area..

It might be a very special teacher, someone who works with youth movements or that kindly, caring lollypop lady who has greeted youngsters each and every morning in all weathers.

Your nomination might also be a special police officer who has made a distinctive difference on their beat or a public servant whose gone above and beyond the call of duty.

They might be involved in the arts, in sport or in the voluntary sector.

They could come from the business world having spawned a successful company and job creation or landed multi-million pound export deals to sustain the local workforce in good times and bad.

Perhaps they’ve made inroads in the field of medicine and local health or worked tirelessly with the League of Friends, in a care home or a sheltered housing scheme.

He or she might be a roving ambassador who has put Telford on the international map or someone who has strived to bring inward investment into the town to secure jobs and the future prosperity of many.

They might be a designer, an innovator, someone who has walked in the footsteps of the founding fathers of the industrial revolution.

If you know someone who you feel has made a decisive contribution to Telford and its people we want to hear about them.

We’re looking to recognise 40 Telford Champions to take pride of place at a special presentation ceremony being staged at the end of the year when each will be awarded a commemorative piece of crystal.
