Eastwood given two-day deadline

Freddy EastwoodWolves have given Freddy Eastwood 48 hours to resurrect his move to Coventry - or they will call the £1.2m deal off.

Eastwood has so far refused to accept a healthy five-figure settlement on his Molineux contract despite having secured identical wages and a four-year contract at the Ricoh Arena.

The Sky Blues have grown impatient by Eastwood during the negotiations and have attempted to distance themselves from the saga by claiming they are “99 per cent down the road” to doing a deal with Clinton Morrison.

Wolves believe the Eastwood deal is still not dead however, and that despite the move for Morrison, the Molineux misfit could yet end up at Coventry as well.

Ironically, Eastwood and Morrison share the same agent - Neil Fewings. Both clubs have agreed on the finances of the Eastwood deal but Wolves claim Eastwood is the only party who is holding everything up.

And they have taken the ruthless step of threatening to pull the plug on whole transfer without having an immediate buyer waiting in the wings.
