With the open air theatre season finally upon us, theatre company Heartbreak are set to kick off Shrewsbury’s summer line-up with their outdoor production of Midsummer Nights Dream at Shrewsbury Castle.
Leamington Spa-based Heartbreak have visited the county many times with past productions, each time receiving rave reviews.
The company aim to bring a fresh twist to Shakespeare’s work, making it engaging, enjoyable and accessible for all ages.
“We present the text of the plays as simply as possible, but also imbue the production values with an inventiveness and freshness that sets us apart,” say Heartbreak.
“This means that our open-air performances are noted for their imaginative and original production style but also fused with a clarity and accessibility for new audiences who are perhaps not as familiar with the work.”
The performance takes place on July 3. Gates open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Visitors are welcome to bring chairs, rugs and picnics.
