UFOs have been spotted in the skies all over Shropshire, Shropshire Star readers claim.
Dozens of residents from all over the county say they have seen mysterious lights moving across the sky in recent weeks.
The revelations come after three soldiers at a north Shropshire army barracks reported seeing 13 unusual craft objects, zig-zagging across the sky on June 7.
Among those who say they have had a UFO encounter is Wanda Williams, from Whitchurch.
She said her 16-year-old daughter Shanell first spotted the object in the sky as she was drawing her curtains before going to bed about three weeks ago.
“My daughter saw it from her bedroom first,” she said..
“You’ve never seen a light so bright in your entire life. It was towards the Shrewsbury and Shawbury area.
“It was definitely something out of the ordinary. It was huge, just like a dome, and was reflecting.
“The light was out of this world. The light was the brightest I have ever seen in my life. It was just unbelievable.
“Seeing is believing and I believe now we have definitely seen something not from this planet.
“We were covered in goosebumps. It was unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable.”
Margaret Harrop, from Shifnal, also claims to have seen some strange lights the same day as the soldiers’ sighting.
She said she saw two orange lights flying overhead on June 7.
“I called my husband who fetched a pair of binoculars,” she said.
“While concentrating on these objects I looked behind us to see a stream of about 12 more of these objects.
“On closer inspection through the binoculars, we both saw what we agreed resembled orange fan-shaped lights in inverted translucent cube-shaped objects.
“They were flying silently an east, south-easterly direction.”

To be honest until a UFo lands and a little green or grey man gets out and sayes “Take me to your leader”, its very hard to know what to think.
Must be intelligent life in the universe.
Maybe they have seen who the leaders of this planet are and have taken the decision that we are not intelligent enough for first contact yet.
Hello from Germany,
here were have since 15 months a big UFO sighting-wave and the first in Germany since 1947. In all cases is happen the same like in England.
Noone is denying that there is intelligent life in the universe!!! However there are rational explanations for most things and people really need to get a grip.
I live in Shrewsbury {Coleham} and last night at 11pm approx saw 3 objects {one red & 2 white}moving silently very fast from south to north somewhere over the Abbey {I would suppose}. I’d like to believe in UFOs, but Shawbury is suspiciously near.
Finally some sensible comment, I was starting to think that everyone in Shropshire was away with the faeries lol
Must be a slack for news at the moment, no doubt the Shropshire Star will be unearthing the big cat stories again soon.
whats so suspicious about shawbury
Mertyl the Turtle - So your saying there is intelligent life apart from us in the universe but then you say there is a rational reason for UFO’s
A bit of a contradiction.
Surely if you believe in intelligent life elsewhere in the universe you must believe that if that intelligent life is 1000 years more advanced than us that they have developed the use of UFO’s or the ability to travel from galaxy to galaxy.
Look at how far we have advanced in 100 years no try to imagine how far the human race will advance in the next 1000 years.
Shawbury? Well its RAF. Who knows what ‘kit’ they might be trying out, I’m talking about next generation stuff, stuff we are not supposed to know about. Drones, anti-gravity research, even stealthier stealth weapons. This UFO thing might be the perfect cover. Thats all.
Phil - It is not a contradiction at all.
Whilst the possibility of extraterrestrial life is entirely probable, it is FAR more likely statistically that UFO sightings on earth have a HUMAN explanation. I am talking in terms of probability here.
As I said I am open to the possibility, however people need to analyse all sightings from an objective point of view instead of reading what they want into it.
It is great that this has opened up a healthy discussion, however I am trying to offer my hopefully grounded views on the subject.
all I know is that in a coversation I had with a policeman in priorslee today that he believes that he and his collegues witnessed “strange lights vibrating over the night sky above broseley that unnerved them to place the blue lights of their car on which then made the “ufo’s” vanish in a vertical fashion”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was driving home from my daughters wedding in the early hours of Sunday morning on the A483 and saw a pair of headlights behind me as though approaching to overtake. They were dimmer than normal headlights and when they went to overtake there was no car there - nothing at all. Very odd. Got home safely though and saw nothing further.
Myrtle exactly my thoughts - well put!
Ibeing objective Myrtle/scully just negative on the issue.
wouldnt say that you were

Two orange lights spotted flying silently over Shrewsbury last night (19th July 2008) at approx 11.35pm
Around 10pm on 26 July my husband and I saw at least 8 orange lights in the sky - each one disappearing (it was a clear night so they definitely did not go behind clouds). We thought it could have been a meteour shower.
At about 9.40pm on 27th July my husband and I saw 4 orange lights in the sky over Ironbridge. They appeared one at a time and all travelled in the same direction without any sound at all.
At around 10.45pm last night 30th July 2008 my boyfriend and I watched a singular white light travel from the south west to the north across the night sky. We watched it for about 2 mins, it seemed to be up very high with the stars. It then went really really bright and completely disappeared. It was travelling faster than any plane. Did anybody else see it? I am sure there is some logical explanation…a satellite maybe? About half an hour later there was a police helicopter following something on the ground…prob a stolen car…but my next door neighbour says that she saw a really bright light moving in the sky while she was looking at the helicopter. She says it was very very bright and that her and her daughter were both wondering what it was as it was not moving with the helicopter. I didn’t see the second light. Did anyone see either light or know what the helicopter was doing?
I forgot to say we live in Broseley
I saw a big white round light in the sky. It appeared when it went dark but disapeared as soon as daylight came. I have seen 2 other similar variations of this. One was exactly the same but a semi circle and the other was crescent shaped!
