The script was written for Salop to get Carlisle in the first round of the League Cup and so it proved to be, writes our Shrews Blogger James Pugh.Paul Simpson will come face-to-face with his former club in what should provide a good test for us.
It is always important to get home ties in the cups and I for one was delighted to get Carlisle.
Although the side will have changed since Simpson left, there won’t be many others who would have a better inside knowledge to help us beat them.
Plus of course Simpson will love to get one over on his former club.
Its about time Town had some success in the cups. Apart from beating Everton in the FA Cup which seems so long ago now in the season we got relegated, the fans haven’t had a lot to celebrate.
Under Simpson I’m confident this could be the year that we can provide a few upsets and maybe even return to Wembley. And leave there on the winning side this time!
The long awaited announcement of the sponsors of our new stadium is almost upon us. Muller, based in Market Drayton is one name I have heard been mentioned.
What do fans think of the ‘Muller Stadium‘?
I would like it to be called ‘The Meadow’, something which fans can relate to.
However, I know how much money is important to the club and as long as we get it from the sponsors I’m willing to put up with most things. Although nothing that’s sounds too daft.
And it continues to be fantastic news on the season ticket front. More than 2,000 have already been sold with more expected in days.
Hats of to our loyal fans who have always stuck by the team, even in our worst times, and there have been plenty. Lets roar the team on to promotion next season!

Aslong as its not an embarrasing sponsor, where it can be used to take the mick out of us, i dont care, … and aslong as the club gets some wonga to play with, and bring in some quality players, its all good.
I cant see the fans refering to it anything other than “the medda” though…
If Muller were to sponsor, each corner could have a different name, e.g. raspberry, chocolate digestive and banana, honey and natural yoghurt, etc.
