Tigers land new keeper

Davey LawrenceEurologix Telford Tigers have unveiled their new goalie partnership for season 2008-9.

Home-grown hero Daniel Heslop will be joined between the pipes by former Elite league netminder Davey Lawrence.

Coach Claude Dumas said: “We were looking for another goalie to partner Hessie. We knew we wanted someone with quality, and we knew there are not many to go around.

“Lawrence has played in the Elite league with Sheffield Steelers for many years, but now wants to come to the EPL for more ice time.

“He has played for the GB juniors and the thing I remembered most about him was that he is big, quick and good.

“I think he will want to prove himself at this level and bring some intensity.”
