Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson remains confident of bringing his top targets to Oteley Road this summer.
Simpson has so far secured the signings of Paul Murray, from Gretna, and former Carlisle youngster Stephen Hindmarch.
The Town chief remains desperate to stamp his mark on the squad, and is confident of adding further reinforcements in the second half of June and July.
“It’s a very quiet period at the moment because a lot of people are on holiday,” he said. “They will be coming back in the next week or so and it should get busier.
“But there are endless things that we are following up and trying to get sorted.
“The feedback we are getting is positive and we are selling the ambition of the club. It’s now a question of whether we can do the deals.”
Meanwhile, Simpson has expressed his delight at Town’s training set-up - hailing it as one of the best in the lower leagues.
The Town chief is eager to ensure that every aspect of the club is running to its full potential - and has been delighted by what he has seen of the club’s Sundorne training base.
“One of the big things we’ve been doing this summer is making sure the training ground is up to the standard we want it to be,” said Simpson.
“The ground staff have been busy working away and they’re doing a great job.
“We have an excellent pitch right next to the stadium, but I like to use the training ground.
“We’ve got an excellent facility there with a superb surface, and we’ve also got the Welti Centre very close if we want to do other types of sessions.
“Ideally we’ll use the training ground most of the time, but we’re fortunate to have a great pitch next to the ground as well when that is not possible.”
