A man rescued from a fire at his Shrewsbury home by firefighters is improving in hospital after injuries left him in a critical condition.
Police said the man, who is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, was last night in a “poorly but stable condition” in intensive care at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.
The man had been taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital after he was overcome by smoke and suffered burns in the fire at Barley Field, Monkmoor, in the early hours of Wednesday.
