New faces could arrive at AFC Telford United by the end of the week - with assistant manager Larry Chambers revealing further talks with targets had been lined up.
The Bucks have made no secret of their desire to bring in at least one more striker and another centre-back.
And Chambers says they are getting closer to getting some of the men they want.
“Over the next four or five days we’ll be having further meetings with targets and I think there will be progress,” said Chambers.
“I’d say something will happen in the next five days or so.
“We’ve got one or two irons in the fire but we’re not rushing into it because, as we’ve already made clear, we’re going for quality not quantity.
“I’d like to think the people we’re bringing in will be here before the start of pre-season, though there might be one exception.”
Telford have a bid in for one un-named Blue Square North striker, but Chambers admitted the two clubs were “miles apart” in their valuations, and is not expecting that deal to be concluded satisfactorily any time soon.
He also confirmed they would not be making any move for former Matlock striker Ian Holmes, who had a loan spell with the Bucks towards the end of the season but has since been released by Mansfield.
The Shropshire side currently have just two strikers - Matty Lewis and new signing Terry Fearns - signed up for next season.
No decision on the future of Michael Husbands has yet been revealed, while further talks with Lee Moore have been scheduled for tonight.
Moore has been offered a one-year contract on the same money as last season, but has so far refused to sign and chosen to try and hold out for improved terms.
