This picture showing the Shrewsbury Column Hotel, in Shrewsbury, was taken on August 18, 1967.
It must have been taken to record the building’s final days, as the accompanying caption said that the hotel was “sentenced to be demolished”.
If you are having trouble working out where the hotel stood, there is a clue, as on the extreme right of the picture you can see the sign for London Road.
