Hall close to signing full time

Asa HallBoss Paul Simpson hopes to unveil at least two new players at Shrewsbury Town within the next 24 hours - with loan star Asa Hall set to arrive full-time from Birmingham City.Hall has impressed since former manager Gary Peters brought him to the club on loan from the newly-relegated Premiership outfit.

New boss Paul Simpson has liked what he has seen from the youngster and has publicly confirmed that talks to keep him at the Oteley Road stadium are at an advanced stage.

But the former Carlisle and Preston chief has also been working hard behind the scenes on other deals, and hopes to complete one or two of those by the end of this week.

Carlisle starlet Stephen Hindmarch is the latest name to be linked with a move to Town.

The 18-year-old has come through the ranks at Carlisle and was always held in high-regard by Simpson during his tenure at Brunton Park.

Sources in the north-west claim the teenager is due in Shropshire for talks following his release from the League One play-off hopefuls, who felt he had not shown enough desire in the last year to be a professional footballer.

Blue Square Premier new-boys Barrow are also interested in the attacking-midfielder.

* Defender Colin Murdock has become the first of Town’s released players to find himself a new club.

The former Northern Ireland international has penned a one-year contract with Shrewsbury’s League Two rivals Accrington Stanley.
