May 28, 1965 - the 2nd Oakengates Company Boys’ Brigade.This picture was taken on May 28, 1965. The caption when it was published the following day was: “Voted the most popular boy by his colleagues at the 2nd Oakengates Company Boys’ Brigade, Corporal Derek Elliot proudly shows his trophy to some of the younger lads.

“It was presented at the brigade’s 18th annual parade in the Congregational Church last night.

“The boys were inspected by Mr. A.A. Rennie, Assistant Chief Constable of Shropshire.”
