Hundreds of visitors from across the country flocked to a Shropshire farm for a bluebell walk - after it was highlighted on TV.
Organisers of the event, which took place at Upper Shadymoor Farm in Stapleton, near Shrewsbury, on Saturday and yesterday received more people than they expected after a welcome boost from a famous face.
BBC weather presenter Shefali Oza cast brilliant sunshine on the weekend’s bluebell walk when she broadcast the weather sitting in a carpet of bluebells at the farm on Friday.
The two-day success saw some 500 visitors stroll through the ancient woodland and viewing the bluebells.
Host Kevan Fox said people thoroughly enjoyed the “idyllic” nature of the gardens and lakes.
He added: “Certainly a number of visitors from as far afield as The Wirral, Birmingham and Stoke arrived because they had seen Upper Shadymoor on television.
“One visitor described Upper Shadymoor as hidden behind gods back.”
The 200-acre farm boasts 40 acres of woodland and pasture and offered walks from 10 minutes to about an hour.
All walkers then got the chance to enjoy beef bap lunches and afternoon teas. All proceeds raised from the walks will go to Stapleton Church and Longnor School Circle.
