Fans of car-crushing monster trucks are in for a treat this weekend when the Shropshire Truck Show is staged near Oswestry.
The show is one of the region’s largest events and is always a massive hit with families.
This year’s truck event will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Oswestry Showground at Park Hall and organisers are billing it as a weekend of fantastic family fun. They say that a top class line-up of entertainment will be on show.
Car-crushing monster trucks Red Dragon and Podzilla are sure to be one of the biggest draws at the event.
Motocross display team UKFMX is set to be popular among visitors who love speed and stunts.
And the Ghosts of the Night owl display will bring the magic of nature to the proceedings.
A very special guest, standing at eight feet tall, will be appearing at the show on Sunday. Titan the Robot is a state-of-the-art robotic entertainer.
With mind-boggling audience interaction and humour, Titan will charm visitors of all ages. Titan’s appearance at the show is courtesy of sponsors Truckinsure.
Local company Enfield Recovery will also be providing a real-life crash rescue recovery demonstration at the show.
Other entertainment includes a family funfair with bungee, a model show, craft fair and hundreds of trucks on show.
In the past more than 10,000 people have visited the show. Despite rain last year, thousands of truck fans of all ages enjoyed the fun at the show.
Former world’s strongest man Geoff Capes was among the visitors to last year’s event. The ex-British champion shotputter was guest of honour at the Shropshire Star stand at the show.
Tickets are £8 for adults and £4 for children (aged five to 15 years) or senior citizens.
A family ticket is also available for £20 (two adults and two children).
