The news is really hotting up

If the mini heatwave has whetted your appetite for hotter climes then it’s well worth listening to this week’s podcast by Star Assistant Editor Carl Jones.

This podcast is currently unavailable

Carl introduces Travel Editor Amy Bould, who previews next week’s Shropshire Star eight-page holiday supplement, including two exciting competitions.

Following the results of the court case into the murder of Telford man Neil Williams, Carl takes a look at some other high-profile cases set to hit the headlines next week.

These include the hearing over the death of a Shropshire pensioner hit by a bus on a trip to London and a court appearance by Otis Ferry, the county-based huntsman and son of Roxy Music crooner Bryan Ferry.

Keeping on the musical theme, you can also find out which million-selling pop star will be in the county next week, while for sports fans, a true cricket legend will also make an appearance in Shropshire.

Women’s editor Women’s Editor Tracey O’Sullivan previews this month’s Woman supplement in the Star, which includes advice on beating the credit crunch with fashion on the cheap.
