Hospital research service to move

hospital-room.jpgShropshire’s orthopaedic hospital has revealed plans to move its pioneering research department into the new, multi-million pound TORCH building on the site.

But concerns have been voiced that the space being given over to the Orthotic Research and Locomotor Assessment Unit will not be that currently enjoyed by the specialists who help people with walking and gait difficulties.

Director of operations and development at Oswestry’s Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, Mr David James, admitted the department was being allocated less space than originally planned.

But he said staff were working to ensure there was as little disruption to patients as possible.

“The hospital is currently facing challenging times with the need to deliver excellent services within budget. This has meant a need to make the best use of our new facilities,” he said.
