Campaigners are still waiting to see the plans to build seven giant wind turbines in north Shropshire, weeks after they were handed over to council chiefs.
Nuon Renewables handed in an application for a windfarm off Poplar Lane, Dorrington, near Market Drayton, at the start of April. It first went to Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, as the development stretches across the border.
It was then passed on to North Shropshire District Council.
But while an application is usually validated and registered within two weeks, nothing has yet been revealed.
District council spokeswoman Rian Huxley said: “The application was referred to us by Newcastle council and we are now just waiting for them to deal with their part of the application.
“Usually it would take about two weeks to validate and register and application and we want to get this matter out to consultation as soon as possible.”Terry May, co-ordinator of Veto on Rural Turbine Expansion (Vortex) windfarm action group in north Shropshire, said people were becoming increasingly frustrated by the delay.
She said the group now planned to buy another blimp, to add to the one already being flown at various points, so people can see how high the turbines could be.
She added: “People are upset about this and it makes them more angry when they don’t know what is happening.
“The noise is our concern, because together with the flickering you get when the sun is behind a turbine, it upsets people’s health. They should not be put so close to people’s homes.
“Also, there’s the visual intrusion on the area because it is a beautiful area, and in the past they have always refused planning permission for the tiniest little log cabin on the grounds of visual intrusion. Also, these things have been known to fall down.
The group launched blimp last month, flying it at more than 100m, to give people an idea how tall the turbines could be.
