Ex-beet factory is fading from view

British Sugar spokesman John Smith said the site, which is still being used for storage and distribution, was being demolished over the coming months as part of a 32-week programme. He said the firm did not, as yet, have a definite future for the 350-acre site, which closed early last year with the loss of 117 jobs.
