Death smash rider named

A Telford motorcyclist who died after a three-vehicle crash on a road near Shrewsbury was named by police today.

Richard Smallwood, of Admaston, died in hospital a day after Saturday’s accident.

His motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car and an articulated lorry on the B4394 near the Atcham Industrial Estate, Upton Magna.

Mr Smallwood, 36, was taken to the specialist trauma centre at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham by air ambulance but died the following morning.

Police are continuing to investigate and have appealed for witnesses to contact Shrewsbury police station on 08457 444888.
