A Telford have-a-go hero was attacked with a wooden plank after giving chase to a vandal he saw smashing a car window.
The man was hit about the legs after chasing the man he saw targeting a silver-coloured Ford Galaxy in Gloucester Avenue, Dawley, at about 10.30pm yesterday.
The witness ran after the offender but was forced to give up after being hit, although he is not thought to be badly injured.
His attacker is described as about 5ft 8ins, aged 18 to 23 and with short dark hair. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms. Anyone with information can call police on 08457 444888.
