Signalling a week full of news

The troubled first train journey on the new direct Shropshire-London service is among the topics for this week’s podcast by Star Assistant Editor Carl Jones.

Other topics include sports writer Chris Hudson on AFC Telford United’s “terrific season” and the continuing campaign against rural school and post office closures.

We look ahead to the week to come, including the opening of a special garden in memory of PC Richard Gray, who died a year ago.

Constable Gray died on on May 6, 2007, from a gunshot wound while attending a firearms incident in Castlefields, Shrewsbury.

We also preview a meeting on the hot topic in Shrewsbury, the co-location of the town’s colleges.
