Skipper Karl Henry has given Wolves a boost ahead of their vital final game of the season against Plymouth at Molineux tomorrow.
Henry has been out of action since the game at Charlton which saw him score the last-minute winner in the 3-2 victory.
He also missed last season’s play-off run-in with a serious spleen injury so he is hoping to get his chance to play a part tomorrow.
“I’m delighted to be back in contention,” he said. “I never thought when I picked the injury up that I would be out for this long.
“Leroy Lita fell into me in the game at Charlton at the end of March and, with us not having a match the weekend after, I didn’t think I would miss any games.
I was 100 per cent sure I’d be fit within a fortnight. But I had strained the ligaments in my knee and that prevented me from kicking the ball.
“Reaching the play-offs would be extra special for me because of what happened last year. That was a big disappointment, personally, and it’s good news that we still have an opportunity to make it now.
“I’m sure we’ll sense from the crowd what is happening in the other matches that affect us but the important thing for us is to play our game and make sure we win it.
“It would be very frustrating for other results to go for us and then for us to let points slip through lack of concentration.
“There is still pressure on us but we have to carry that on our shoulders, go and perform as we know we can and hopefully make it a day for us all to remember.”
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said: “It will be nice to have him have back fit.
“He’s one of those players who’s more appreciated when he’s not there. You realise how good he is when he’s missing.”
Wolves need three points from the south cost side if they are to stand any chance of grabbing a top six spot. But they are relying on either Crystal Palace (at home to Burnley) or Watford (away to Blackpool) slipping up.
