Shropshire home with Kiwi flavour

The dining area

As Jeremy is a builder, he is always looking at what land is available for sale, and when he and Sarah found their plot of land it was “too good an opportunity to miss”.

Sarah said: “The plot came with permission for this style dormer bungalow but we totally changed the internal design within the footprint. In New Zealand and Australia this is much more the style of house we’re used to.”

The land itself lies along the private lane to what was once Broom Hall, which was demolished in the 1960s. There are just two properties at the end of the lane and another one being built across from Half Mile House. No more houses will be built there.

Nice house as far as big modern British houses go, but take it from THIS Kiwi that there’s very little about this house which is Kiwi! For example, houses in New Zealand which are typically Kiwi usually involve the use of a great deal of native New Zealand timbers. Also, typical New Zealand houses are unashamedly one-storey.

Beautiful home…and it should be for two thirds of a Million Dollars and the description would be more apt described as a Cape Cod style home…
