Shropshire home with Kiwi flavour

The lounge

As the couple are now planning to move to France, to take on a renovation project, they have put the dormer bungalow up for sale through Barbers of Shrewsbury for offers in excess of £299,995.

An attractive property, Half Mile House is bigger than it looks from the outside and has the huge of advantage of being in a quiet position, down a private lane, and with a large rear garden, when most of the surrounding properties nearby have much smaller ones.

Sarah said: “It is called Half Mile House because it is literally only half a mile away from the town centre.”

Nice house as far as big modern British houses go, but take it from THIS Kiwi that there’s very little about this house which is Kiwi! For example, houses in New Zealand which are typically Kiwi usually involve the use of a great deal of native New Zealand timbers. Also, typical New Zealand houses are unashamedly one-storey.

Beautiful home…and it should be for two thirds of a Million Dollars and the description would be more apt described as a Cape Cod style home…
