andy-parsons-index.jpgAward-winning British comedian Andy Parsons is probably best known for his regular appearances on BBC comedy quiz show Mock The Week, hosted by Dara O’Briain.

Andy’s distinctive style of carefully-timed political satire is punctuated by his high-pitched ’sergeant major’ style delivery and absurdist observations on the state of the world, with a hint of ‘cheeky London cabbie’ that has entertained audiences from Manchester to Montreal.

He’s also a member of London’s Comedy Store series and has become the driving force behind the Tuesday night Cutting Edge team.

Andy has won countless awards for his prolific shows, including the Time Out Best Comedy Award in 2002 and the New Zealand Comedy Guild Best International Act in 2004.

A very familiar face on the circuit, Andy has been performing and writing since the early 1990s when he began penning material for the the cult show Spitting Image, along with contributions to Smith & Jones, The Comedy Club, Holding the Baby, Saturday Night Live and the Lenny Henry Show.

Between writing, he teamed up with fellow funnyman and long-time friend Henry Naylor, and the duo recently completed their eighth series of Parsons and Naylor’s Pull-out Section on Radio 2.

This year will see him embark on his live tour Off the Kerb, which brings him to Telford’s Oakengates Theatre on 14th May.
