Parking wardens take to streets

ParkRight traffic wardensPeople will have to watch where they park in Whitchurch town centre, after it was announced wardens have taken to the streets.

ParkRight attendants will now patrol the centre of Whitchurch, as well as the outskirts of the town.

The signing and lining of the parking restrictions in Whitchurch town centre have been approved by the Department for Transport, and so are now legally enforceable.

Until this week ParkRight has been unable to enforce the parking restrictions and wardens had been patrolling mainly outside Whitchurch town centre. They will now be patrolling daily in all areas of Whitchurch.

Shropshire County Council traffic manager Ron Buzzacott said: “As this is significant change to the enforcement regime in Whitchurch, the council has instructed ParkRight to issue warning leaflets in place of penalty charge notices for a short initial period.”

Totally ridiculous article. People should be mindful of where they park regardless of whether or not they are likely to get fined. The people who park illegally, blocking the road and causing danger and obstruction to others, should be fined without warning. Every law abiding motorist is sick and tired of them.
