Shropshire under-19 hockey skipper James Joule has taken a huge step towards claiming a place in the England under-18 set-up.
The Telford defender, who was raised through the Market Drayton youth system, has been called up to a special training camp next month.
He will join 35 other players from across the country as he looks to stake his claim for a place in the squad to play in Poland this summer.
Joule was given the call-up after leading Shropshire’s under-19 side to glory in a county tournament at Nottingham earlier this month.
He joined Telford from Market Drayton two seasons ago and has since established himself as in the National League.
