Rising Hollywood star Max Brown now splits his time between LA and London, but the actor is from Porthill in Shrewsbury, where his family still live, and he attended Shrewsbury Sixth Form College.
Max has appeared in a host of well-known TV shows, playing heart-throb student Kristian Hargreaves in Hollyoaks and starring in both Grange Hill and Crossroads. More recently, Max shot to fame in last year’s Hollywood horror flick Paradise Lost (below, second from left), and narrowly lost out on playing the new Superman. Read more here…

Max Brown was also in ‘Mistresses’ on BBC1 most recently and has a film with David Suchet in post production.

love this! have been a fan of max brown since he was kristian in hollyoaks, but didnt know he was from shrews :-)

Pete Postlethwaite is well placed as 1st in the Shropshire celeb list.
This is a man that at the start of his hugely demanding solo stageplay Scaramouche Jones amazingly found time to assist in a project to discourage people from buying stolen property because most that do directly fund drug abuse.
He flatly refused to take a penny piece for his time and his parting words to me as he left from a days filming for the project were ‘lets just hope in our hearts that we can bring an end to this awful problem. If a bargain is too good to be true then that’s probably exactly what it is.’ A great man, a great dad & a great big heart.
