The former chief constable of Dyfed-Powys Police will not face charges after an investigation over claims of misuse of a police computer and financial irregularities, it was confirmed today.
Terry Grange stepped down suddenly from the top job in the Dyfed-Powys force in November when the allegations emerged.
The matter was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission and a file passed to the Crown Prosecution Service.
A commission spokesman said today: “The CPS has decided there are to be no charges at all.
“Our investigation has been passed to the Dyfed-Powys Police Authority, and we are waiting for a response on that.
“We are hoping to make a formal announcement in early May.”
Ian Arundale has been appointed as the new chief constable. Presently the deputy chief constable of West Mercia Police, he will take up his post at the beginning of June.
