A town council in Mid Wales has struggled to attract nominations for this year’s May elections.
Only 10 people are standing for the 16 seats available on Newtown Town Council.
It means no seats on Newtown council will be contested in the May 1 poll.
Council clerk Steve Geary said three existing councillors - Elizabeth Sheriff, Vicky Ruff-Cock and Val Howard - had failed to hand their election papers in on time.
After the elections, he said, the three would be co-opted back onto the council but it would still leave the authority three short.
