No to parking charges for town

parking1.jpgParking charges will not be re-introduced into Wellington under a multi-million pound scheme, the borough leader has vowed.

Telford & Wrekin council leader Andrew Eade made the pledge at the annual meeting of Wellington Chamber of Commerce yesterday.

“If they want to increase parking charges in Telford Town Centre, let them do it,” he said. “It makes Wellington more attractive.”

Business leaders were urged to “hang in” and “keep faith” as major investment to breathe new life into Wellington, with the help of a share of a £23 million cash pot, comes to fruition.

Councillor Eade said the authority’s vision for the market town was not a “short-term fix”, but would take time to bring about.

Good for Wellington. Now let us see it in Shrewsbury! Will it happen? Will it heck! The council and Park Rite are too greedy and to hell with town businesses. Lets all shop at Wellington from now onwards I will!
