Campaigners fighting to save post office branches from closure in south Shropshire have issued postcards as part of their battle.
The ‘Save our Post Office’ postcards are now being distributed to residents in areas where branches are threatened with closure.
And people are being urged to send them to post office minister Pat McFadden to register objections to the proposals.
More than 25 post offices in Shropshire face being axed under a Government-led review of the postal network which is seeking to close 2,500 branches across the country.
Now Liberal Democrats in south Shropshire have launched the postcards to help the fight.
Heather Kidd, prospective Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Ludlow, said: “This is another way of putting pressure on the Government to change its mind.
“We are asking residents to buy a stamp from the threatened post office and pop the card in the post.
“As well as objecting to the closure, there is space for the sender to add their own comments.
“We’ve already had large numbers back, but would urge everyone who has had a card to send them in.
“The more we can present the minister with the greater the impact.”
Councillor Kidd said a total of 28 rural post offices are under threat in Shropshire as part of the review, with more than half of them in south Shropshire - the most rural area with the oldest population.
The consultation over the proposals will last until June 9.
