AFC Telford United has issued a rallying call to the club’s supporters ahead of Saturday’s game against fellow Blue Square North play-off hopefuls Harrogate Town.
Violent clashes after Telford’s last game against Kettering marred what club chairman Lee Carter described as a “good game of football”.
Seven Shropshire people were arrested following disorder in the centre of Kettering before and after the top-of-the-table football clash last Saturday.
Kettering won 3-0 and were crowned league champions but Telford remain hopeful of making the play-offs for promotion to the Football Conference, the top tier of non-league football.
Today club chairman Lee Carter, said “We need to drum up one hell of an atmosphere.
“The management team and players really do need a cheer, big enough to see them through to the play-offs.
“That is the very least they deserve.”
