A flock of ewes and lambs in Pontesbury had a close shave last Sunday after they became stranded by floodwater in a field following the heavy rainfall over the weekend. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service launched a rescue operation at 7am, and a spokesman commented, “we have been to a couple of livestock rescues recently but probably not on this scale.”
