A Shropshire kite-surfer was taken to hospital after he was found unconscious on a North Wales beach.
The man, from Shrewsbury, is believed to have been injured by his craft on the Central Beach in Prestatyn where he was found by a walker.
Coastguards assisted by an RNLI team were called to the scene along with paramedics.
A spokeswoman said the man was unconscious when rescuers got to him but started coming round by the time the ambulance arrived.
She said: “He was on his own and it is thought the blustery wind blew the craft over injuring him.
“The coastguard and RNLI team helped the paramedics to treat the man and take him to the ambulance.”
A spokesman for the Wales Ambulance Service said the man was suffering from concussion.
He was taken to the Glan Clwyd hospital, Rhyl, after being found on Saturday afternoon. His injuries were not thought to be serious or life threatening.
Jonathan Parker, from the Right Here Kite Now shop in High Street, Shrewsbury, which sells kite-surfing equipment, said: “Kite-surfing can be dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing but it’s also unpredictable as well.
“If you know what you’re doing it’s perfectly safe.”
Kite-surfing involves standing on a board with foot straps or bindings, using the power of a large controllable kite to propel the rider across the water.
