Alan chosen as Star winner

alan-featherstone.jpgAlan Featherstone from the Welsh border village of Llansantffraid has received £1,000 towards the cost of a new kitchen after being chosen as a winner in the Shropshire Star’s “Hand Over Your Home” competition.

Three readers were given the chance to compete in an interactive competition during the first six weeks of the year to win cash towards a major home improvement scheme.

Local companies were invited to submit a series of possible designs, and Shropshire Star readers voted on which plan they viewed as the best.

Mr Featherstone won the kitchen category, where Shrewsbury-based David Hartill’s design was selected as the best on offer.

And Mr Featherstone visited the Abbey Foregate showroom to receive his £1,000 prize from Vanessa Hodgson, features supervisor in the classified advertising department of the Shropshire Star which organised the competition.
