Roadworks set to end

Road repairs that have been causing long delays on the A483 between Newtown and Welshpool will be completed by tomorrow, Government highways officers have promised.

A Welsh Assembly Government spokesman said today: “The works being carried out between Newtown and Welshpool involved replacing a worn out road surface. Temporary traffic signals are in operation during these works

“Every effort is being made to minimise delays and the works will be completed before the start of the Easter break on Thursday lunchtime.”
