I have just read a letter from Brian Lee-Hales, of Wenlock. Very well done, mate, but you are wasting your breath. Mr Brown and the Labour government are completely ignorant of the needs and opinions of the people of this country.
He thinks that we are too thick to think for ourselves. I was not aware that the people voted him Prime Minister. That was done by his fellow MPs.
They seem to forget that at the end of the day they are just civil servants to the voters.
The government are fireproof - they cannot be touched. It is a disgusting situation.
Mr Brown has now got us paying millions to Northern Rock to keep an incompetent board in power. Another old pals’ act. I just hope the electorate got the message and remove this government from power.
Mr Brown, sir, if you are so certain about the EU constitution, give us a referendum - if you have got the courage. We will show you who is right. If you read this letter you have gathered I am not a Labour voter.

As a former member of the Labour Party I am still amazed that the Party never got a vote during the leadership election - only the MP’s. He’d do well in a Banana Republic……whoops silly me, I forgot, we live in one !!!!
Labour is at the point the Tories were at the end of their 4th term in office [what does that say, considering Labour are nearing the end of their 3rd?].
I despair as much as DW does and I agree with all he or she says. I rule the day I ever helped bring this shower to office in 1997 !!!
“Things can only get………………” worse it seems !!!
The letter writer appears to be of the mistaken view that in our democracy we get to vote for specific Prime Ministers. We don’t. We didn’t get to vote for John Major, Alec Douglas-Home, and even Winston Churchill during the war, to name but a few.
We voted for the current Labour administration, which still has the authority to govern until 2010.
‘The people’ never vote for Prime Ministers, they vote for constituency MPs, and/or a particular political party.
Don’t confuse the issue Peter !!
People like me who are absolutely fed up with GB, his aweful gov’t and who agrees with DW, know only too well that the premis of the above letter has more to do with New Labours lack of standing in the nation, rather than who votes for the PM.
Good try Peter !!
Ian, it’s fine to oppose New Labour - to be honest I’m more of an ‘old’ Labour man myself if anything, and New Labour’s fondness for Tory-style policies has always concerned me.
The opportunity to display opposition will be at the next General Election. Looking around though, I can’t really see any credible alternatives - can you?
Tired old arguement Peter !!! By the time GB has shot himself in the foot - The people of this country will vote in Mickey Mouse !!!
at a loss who to vote for as labour and torys are one of the same will labour win again yep of course they will but to say things havent improved under labour since 1997 is a jot bit stupid hospitals are better in some quarters, unemployment is rock bottom it will not go anty lower , min wage for the less fortunate , winter fuel allounce the old dears can whinge but its a little better than a tenner , tax credits for all with children earning under 48k love it when some say they do not claim it i maY LIVE IN THE COUNTRY BUT I AINT A CABBAGE ,imigration is a problem , amongst other things that are being addressesd , schools are improving even with the ever whinging nut somthing that should be assigned to the bin of the 1970s decade .so are we better or worse off under labour i would say better off under torys of the thatcher and her ilk , what will the torys do if voted back in something not publicised that well yet but they will give the right to buy to all association house dwellers so if i were one of these thousands in another 6 years time vote them back in which is why they wil;l get back in again RANT OVER .
…More like Never Never land Andy - where is all this exactly happening in your ‘rant’ ?
