Now Coates quits Shawbury

Caretaker boss Ben Coates has quit Shawbury United - just a week after manager Delwyn Humphreys left the club.

Coates handed in his resignation straight after leading the Sport Italia West Midlands League premier division side to a 3-1 win over Tividale on Saturday.

“After Delwyn’s departure I agreed to stay on with the club until the end of the season.

“However, during the week an opportunity presented itself to allow me to take my next coaching qualification and also a course in injury management which would have taken me away from the club for several weekends.

“After consideration, and with continued uncertainty as to the future, I decided that my own development was paramount and decided to resign,” said Coates.
